I use SuperCollider with TidalCycles for Live-coding music and MaxMSP for generative AV.
Outside work I contribute to activities closely related to music technology:
- deliver live-coding workshops for women and non-binary with
Music Hackspace: a London based community for innovators and hobbyists
passionate about music technology.
- release music with Establishment Records under my artist name Miri Kat.
- perform live with Algorave. Generating music from algorithms, often using live coding techniques.
- contribute AV resources to Miro Shot. A global collective of musicians, filmmakers, designers and coders who have created a brand new kind of live music experience.
- perform with women and non-binary musicians collective WITCiH.
I am among some of the pioneering women in live-coding within the UK. I am also a registered STEM Ambassador and I believe live-coding brings the joys of programming to life. I have conducted workshops, performances and demos all over the UK and Internationally. I delivered a live-coding workshop for Unsound Festival in Krakow, Transmediale in Berlin, Music Tech Fest in Stockholm, Amsterdam Dance Event and I’m planning many more in the UK and Europe this year.
I am passionate about STEM education, promoting creative coding skills for Women and Non-Binary, conducting workshops and performances all over the UK and Internationally and creating impact using the power of music technology as a force for social change.
